Strangers to lovers
Lovers to strangers
Now you’re just somebody that I used to know
Feelings shaped into words, inspired by moments
Strangers to lovers
Lovers to strangers
Now you’re just somebody that I used to know
You didn’t water me enough
so my roots became deprived
my leaves dry, neglected
until I was rescued by another
who nourished, nurtured and fed me
until I grew strong again.
Such is the nature of love
and the importance of cherishing the flower
you wish not to lose
And it was then
that I was at peace
with the possibility of something else
the future cannot be controlled, so said a wise person
let go
my darling
what will be yours, will be yours
You lie to me
in ways even you don’t realise
In subtle complexities
believing silence is truth
Oh! How ignorant you are
I am stronger than you
not even I
could imagine
Why do we risk so much
in the name of love?
Why do we light the candle
when we know it could cause damage?
Something so perfect, so fragile
So capable
Of destruction
I don’t understand
what this is or means
sometimes, it seems so utterly clear,
a crystal blue lake
and yet, at times, so clouded
a muddled palette
or imperfect storm
a riddle one cannot quite crack
Trust
Doubt
Fear
Love
