Heights

I could have taken you to the highest

Heights

Ones that birds soar from

A meeting of minds

Bodies

Spirits

Oh you would have loved to taste it

(And taste more, that’s for sure)

But instead you chose to drink

the cup of cosy mediocrity

Because guess what?

It’s comforting and easy

To have lots of options

And damn less scary

to jump

But when it all ends

When the dust settles

And you wonder why

You don’t feel satisfied

Or that no one looks at you in the way I did

(Because let’s face it, I really did)

Or how bored you have become with her

Don’t come back

Asking to soar those heights

Experience what could have been

Taste the potential that never was

You had the option

But didn’t take it

So you’ll find me high in the sky

Where only brave souls fly
